A new nonstop United Airlines flight from Denver International Airport will carry travelers 5,563 miles to Rome, the latest route to expand Colorado’s global connections. This seasonal flight starting May 1 marks the first nonstop flight scheduled between Denver and Rome. It will operate daily on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner through Sept. 24, United officials announced Thursday. DIA is the largest airport in the United States by size, covering 53 square miles of land. It also ranks among the busiest airports in the world. Travelers at DIA now can reach more than 220 destinations, mostly domestic. Airport officials in recent years have prioritized increased international air connections, including air cargo operations. DIA now offers nonstop international access to 32 destinations in 18 countries. Among the other nonstop flights, DIA offers connections to Istanbul; Dublin; London; Paris; Zurich; Reykjavik, Iceland; Munich; Frankfurt, Germany; Tokyo; and a dozen cities in Mexico and Central America.
