WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- Boeing announced Thursday that Pegasus Airlines has ordered up to 200 737 MAX airplanes. The purchase includes a firm order for 100 plus options for another 100. Pegasus Airlines is Turkey's leading low-cost carrier. It plans to grow and modernize its single-aisle fleet. Boeing says the 737-10 is the largest model in the 737 MAX family, able to carry up to 230 passengers. This will enable Pegasus to serve more passengers with the lowest cost per seat of any single-aisle plane. "Boeing aircraft have been an integral part of our operations since Pegasus entered the aviation industry in 1990," Güliz Öztürk, CEO of Pegasus Airlines, said in a news release. "We are pleased to be expanding our fleet with the new Boeing 737-10 model aircraft. We continue to invest in our fleet in line with our growth targets in Turkey and globally and to expand our network by launching new routes." Boeing says the 737-10 will help Pegasus Airlines reach new markets across Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa.
