Ollie's law goes into effect in Massachusetts
Dec 19, 2024
BOSTON (WWLP) - It's a big day for animal rights activists, Ollie's law goes into effect.
Ollie's law is the first piece of legislation in our state to put regulations on doggie daycare and boarding facilities. It's named after Ollie, a Longmeadow labradoodle that was mauled to death at a doggie daycare back in 2020.

The law puts rules in place to protect both animals and workers at pet care facilities. It will create a mandatory dog-to-staff ratio, put in place safety and emergency protocols, and require documentation of any injuries that occur on the daycare property.
