Person charged after twovehicle crash involving West Point school bus carrying 46 children

KING WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A driver has been charged following a two-vehicle crash involving a West Point School Board bus in the town of West Point in King William County on Wednesday morning.
According to the West Point Police Department, at around 7:23 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18, a two-vehicle crash involving a West Point School Board bus occurred near Glass Island Road.
Police said the bus was stopped while making a turn on the road and was not loading or unloading passengers when a second vehicle hit the bus from the back.
According to authorities, 46 children were on the bus at the time of the crash, and a child was transported to the hospital as a precaution for their injuries. Police said the child has since been released from the hospital.

The driver of the second vehicle was charged with failure to maintain proper control of the vehicle, according to officials.
