WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — A man has been arrested after he allegedly stabbed two people late Wednesday night in Warwick, according to police. Albert Sanders, 58, is accused of attacking his girlfriend and her sister at a home on West Shore Road shortly after 11 p.m. Responding officers found both victims with multiple stab wounds and in need of immediate medical attention. Warwick Police Chief Bradford Connor told 12 News the violence stemmed from an argument between Sanders and his girlfriend, who awoke that night to find him strangling her. Sanders then allegedly stabbed the two victims before driving off in his girlfriend's car. The victims were rushed to Rhode Island Hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries. As of noontime Thursday, they were both receiving treatment and in stable condition, police said. Sanders was arrested Thursday in Providence. He's scheduled to be arraigned in court on the following charges: Domestic assault with a dangerous weapon in a dwelling (two counts) Domestic assault by strangulation Driving without consent of the owner Domestic criminal violation of a no-contact order Domestic disorderly conduct Close Thanks for signing up!
