ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — A private school teacher from Isle of Wight County was arraigned on child porn charges there Wednesday morning. Zachary Hinz, 37, was officially charged with three counts of copying or transmitting child porn. He's being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail and appeared by video. Eden sex offender charged with statutory rape, kidnapping Hinz had worked as a teacher at Isle of Wight Academy. 10 On Your Side had previously reported that Hinz admitted to police that he had between 10 and 60 images of minors on his phone when he was arrested. None of them are believed to be from the school. A preliminary hearing was set for March 13, though he is expected to request a bail hearing before that.
