Sweet ol' gal Frankie finds her furever home
Dec 19, 2024
(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A sweet ol' gal who captured everyone's heart at FOX21 News during Pet of the Week on Wednesday, Dec. 11 has received her happily ever after.
Frankie, an 11-year-old Labrador Retriever mix, came into the Humane Society Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) as an owner-surrender before the holidays. According to Cody Costra, HSPPR's Public Relations Manager, Frankie was very eager and a sweetheart. She was often described as a "lovely older gal" who enjoyed every animal and person.
"She loves spending time around people, and she just wants a family to love for the holidays," Costa said.
Frankie's wish became true when she was adopted later that same week. On Saturday, Dec. 14, HSPPR announced Frankie had found her fur-ever home with a family.
"We were a bit worried she might have a hard time finding a family before the holidays," HSPPR wrote on Facebook. "But we couldn't have been more wrong! This couple knew that age is just a number, and they saw all the love and joy Frankie had to offer their family."
Like Frankie, there are many other adoptable pets at HSPPR who are looking for a home right in time for the holidays.
