AM Headlines: Cooler Temps Patchy Fog South of Charlotte Alberta Clipper Mountain Snow Friday Much Colder Weekend Warmer by Christmas Discussion: Cooler air moves in behind a weak cold front with patchy fog south of Charlotte this morning. Highs will stay in the 50s with more clouds this evening. An Alberta Clipper will bring mountain snow Friday evening into Saturday morning, with light accumulations of 1-3 inches for northwest facing slopes. Snowflakes could mix in into the foothills and Piedmont Friday night, but no accumulation outside of the mountains. Blustery weekend with much colder temperatures. Highs will struggle to get out of the mid 40s Saturday with lows falling into the teens and 20s overnight. Even chillier Sunday and Monday with highs in the low 40s. A slight warming trend begins Christmas Eve with highs back in the upper 40s with rain chances increasing for Christmas as highs get back into the low 50s.
