GAHANNA, Ohio (WCMH) – A heavy police presence formed near a home in Gahanna Thursday morning, when it was reported officers were involved in a shooting that injured one person. According to a Gahanna city spokesperson, police were involved in a shooting near the 800 block of Taylor Road, but no officers were injured during the incident in which one person was hospitalized. The shooting occurred around 10 a.m. just east of the I-270 and Hamilton Road interchange. Gahanna Middle School South and Lincoln Elementary schools were briefly placed into a "secure status" due to nearby police activity, the school district confirmed. Classes have resumed at both locations. Taylor Road is currently closed and police have expanded its investigation to include a hotel nearby on Morrison Road.
