I really identify with Charlie Brown’s sister Sally on the Thanksgiving episode when she says “But I haven’t even finished all of my Halloween candy!” Well, if Thanksgiving is “another holiday to worry about,” don’t tell Sally that Christmas is next week! This means that our area young thespians participating in holiday productions are about to see those shows wrap up this weekend. Catch one in between wrapping presents! Ashtabula Arts Center This year marks the 40th anniversary of Ballet Theatre Ashtabula’s production of “The Nutcracker.” The 2024 production of “The Nutcracker” runs through Dec. 22. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. Advance sale tickets are $19 for adults, $17 for senior/student/military and $15 for children ages 2-12. Fine Arts Association The Fine Arts Association concludes its performances of its 2024 holiday production “Roald Dahls’ Matilda the Musical” this weekend. Production dates and times are Dec. 20 at 7:30 p.m., Dec. 21 at 2 p.m. and Dec. 22 at 2 p.m. Ticket prices are $19 for children 10 and under, $27 for students 11-18, $29 for adults, and $27 for seniors 60 and older. The production is rated G with a running time of 2 hours and 30 minutes, including a 15-minute intermission. The Corning Auditorium is barrier free, and there is free on-site parking available.
