18yearold turns himself in for shooting near Dunbar High School, DC police say

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- An 18-year-old turned himself in to police Wednesday morning for his involvement in a shooting that left a 17-year-old girl hurt near Dunbar High School, police said.
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said 18-year-old Justice Thomas of Northeast D.C. was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).

Investigators said two suspects tried robbing a 17-year-old girl at gunpoint shortly before 3 p.m. in the 200 block of Morgan Street NW. A third suspect got out of a car and there was an exchange of gunfire.
The girl was taken to a hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries after going to Dunbar High School for help.
Officials confirmed she is a student of the high school.
