FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A 40-year-old woman was arrested at Macy's in Fresno's River Park after she was detained by store staff for shoplifting, according to the Fresno Police Department. Officers say 40-year-old Valire Phan Nguyen was arrested on Tuesday shortly after 8 p.m. at the Macy's store, located at 7890 N. Blackstone Ave. The person who called the police told officials that Nguyen was responsible for stealing over $1,000 worth of merchandise. However, investigators say the exact dollar amount of the goods stolen is unknown until the report is complete. Nguyen was also found with a burglary tool, described by officers as a small metal prybar used to remove tags from the clothing. According to the Fresno County Sheriff's Office, Nguyen was booked into Fresno County Jail with a bail set at $36,000. Jail records show the arrest took place at the Macy's store.
