Woman arrested at Macy's in Fresno's River Park, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A 40-year-old woman was arrested at Macy's in Fresno's River Park after she was detained by store staff for shoplifting, according to the Fresno Police Department.
Officers say 40-year-old Valire Phan Nguyen was arrested on Tuesday shortly after 8 p.m. at the Macy's store, located at 7890 N. Blackstone Ave.
The person who called the police told officials that Nguyen was responsible for stealing over $1,000 worth of merchandise. However, investigators say the exact dollar amount of the goods stolen is unknown until the report is complete.

Police say the items taken were all clothing, including pants, jackets and underwear. Nguyen was also found with a burglary tool, described by officers as a small metal prybar used to remove tags from the clothing.
According to the Fresno County Sheriff's Office, Nguyen was booked into Fresno County Jail with a bail set at $36,000. Jail records show the arrest took place at the Macy's store.
