FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A California Highway Patrol officer was sent to the hospital following a crash with a Honda Civic in Fresno Wednesday, CHP said. According to CHP, a patrol car was struck by a Honda Civic after the driver allegedly ran a red light on Clovis and Olive avenues. From a video posted by CHP Fresno on social media, three cars can be seen with damage. In the video, a gray Honda Civic is seen to have damage to the side of the car. There is also another white vehicle that has damage to its front. The CHP car's front wheels appear to be off the vehicle and the front end is damaged. CHP says the crash caused major damage and sent the officer to the hospital.
