HUGHES COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) - Investigators say 42-year-old Richard Chambers was arrested Wednesday morning in Hughes County, near Ada, after an alleged killing spree. "The OSBI, working with not only Pontotoc County Sheriff's Office, the Midwest City Police Department and OHP [Oklahoma Highway Patrol] as well. We were able to identify a person of interest who we believe is linked to these three murders," said Hunter McKee, with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. Midwest City Police found 62-year-old Annie Brown shot to death inside of her home, with her car missing. It was found nearly 90 miles away in the small town of Allen, Oklahoma. Braelyn Hill is one of Brown's next door neighbors. "I was floored. I still can't wrap my head around it. She was a really kind and giving person," said Hill. State agents say the Pontotoc County Sheriff's Department responded to a suspicious call at a home in Allen just before midnight Tuesday, which is where Brown's car was found. "They had gotten to that residence, they discovered an elderly couple, male, 84, female, 70 who had been severely injured," said McKee. OSBI said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the man was taken to a local hospital where he later died. Police have identified the Allen couple as 84-year-old Robert Peliti, and 70-year-old Jackie Peliti. In a press release sent out by the Midwest City Police Department, it said Chambers was living in Brown's backyard. "She loaned her shed out to a lot of people. There was electricity in there, it was just a place to sleep that's not on the streets. It's just kind of crazy to think that someone would take advantage of that," said Hill. Investigators say they're working to figure out why Chambers went on the alleged killing spree. "You're talking about in a short amount of time. Quickly, three innocent people, who are now gone," said McKee.
