Houma man arrested in child sex crime investigation

HOUMA, La. (WGNO) — A Houma man has been arrested following a child sex crime investigation.
Officials say the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office's Special Victim's Unit conducted an "extensive" investigation after an incident was reported. Tyler Matherne, 25, was identified as the suspected perpetrator and brought in for questioning.

Matherne allegedly admitted to sending "sexually motivated photographs" to a person he believed was under 14-years-old. Detectives also said they found more evidence which they believe could lead to the discovery of more victims.
Six suspects sought in French Quarter shooting
Matherne was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex where he is charged with indecent behavior with an juvenile and is being held on a $150,000 bond.
The investigation is ongoing and officials say more charges are likely to come.
