Units responded and upon arrival, crews extended hose lines to attack the fire and conducted searches of both the main house and an attached cottage to ensure all occupants had evacuated safely. Kuhio Highway crash claims the life of a Moloaa man The fire was brought under control at 5:53 p.m. and fully extinguished by 7:01 p.m. The fire caused significant damage to the cottage, with approximately 50% of the structure lost. Damage is estimated at $47,000 for the cottage, though the value of other damages is still unknown.
