EDEN, N.C. (WGHP) -- An Eden man faces a child abuse charge after officers responded twice to a home in Eden, according to the Eden Police Department.
On Saturday, officers with the EPD responded to a home on Harris Street to check on the welfare of a juvenile.
Officers arrived on the scene, spoke with the people involved and also told Rockingham County Child Protective Services about the incident.
A short time later, a second call came in, and the caller said there was a disturbance involving a gun.
Officers went back to the home and spoke with David Jeffrey Hutcherson, 60, of Eden, who was then arrested for resisting, delaying and obstructing.
On Wednesday, investigators with the EPD consulted with North Carolina Child Protective Services, and additional charges were taken out for Hutcherson.
A detective secured warrants on Hutcherson for misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun and misdemeanor child abuse.
Hutcherson was given no bond.
