CHARLOTTE, NC — It’s unsettling video to watch for a west Charlotte woman who asked we hide her identity for her own safety.
“I barely could sleep last night,” she said.
Sleep and peace of mind has been hard to come by for her this month because after her home was broken into twice in December.
“Now it’s to the point where it’s just like, leave me alone. Like, what are you coming back for? You took most of the valuable things the first time,” she asked.
She was out of town the first time it happen on December 2nd. That’s when she got an alert showing someone walking out of her home on Capitol Dr.
“He had ransacked my jewelry box and even broken the handle to my dresser,” she explained.
The police report shows the thief took more than $3,000 worth of jewelry, cash and other electronics. After that, she tells me she bought several cameras.
After the first break-in, the woman bought several camera for her home.
Video shows a man walking around the home, looking through windows until he eventually found a way in. Both break-ins happened in the middle of the afternoon.
“It seems like it’s somebody that knows when I’m going or when my car is going and that I stay by myself,” she said.
That woman tells me the police did find clues. So far no arrests in the case.
CMPD tells WCCB there are no updates and it remains an active investigation.
