4 men caught by Border Patrol after boat lands on Carlsbad beach

CARLSBAD, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Authorities apprehended four men Sunday after a suspicious boat landed on a North County beach, according to a statement by U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Wednesday.
On Sunday, Dec. 15 around 5:15 p.m., U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the San Clemente Station learned of a suspicious vessel landing on South Ponto Beach.

Carlsbad police officers and local lifeguards were at the scene, according to CBP.

Agents arrived around 6 p.m. and apprehended four adult males, and seized the vessel. According to CBP, apprehensions refers to the physical control or temporary detainment of a person who is not lawfully in the U.S. which may or may not result in an arrest.
The investigation into why the boat landed on the beach and where it set sail from is ongoing.
