SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A long time Springfield business will be closing its doors on Friday. After a half-century of providing full automotive service to his customers, Felix DeCesare is retiring. Felix's Auto Repair and Towing opened its doors at 914 Sumner Avenue in 1972, offering full gas service, towing, and vehicle repairs. Holiday tree-lighting shines over Mason Square Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno presented DeCesare a proclamation, declaring Friday, December 20, 2024, as Felix Auto Repair and Towing day in the City of Springfield. DeCesare told 22News that he loves the city and appreciates his loyal customers, "I want to thank all my customers," said DeCesare. "They're my friends. I met people from everywhere in the world in this business. It's been a beautiful business. Thank you to Springfield." Felix said he's looking forward to spending time with his family, and getting to play more golf.
