Easthampton searching for new chief of police

EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - Public Safety Consultants have been selected to lead a search for a new police chief for the city of Easthampton, and are currently accepting applicants.
The idea of the search began as a result of former Police Chief Robert Alberti deciding to retire due to health reasons back in August. Lieutenant Dennis Scribner is currently serving as interim police chief until the position is filled.
The Public Safety Consultants belong to a firm that specializes in law enforcement leadership recruitment, and they plan to aid in forming a selection committee to choose the optimal candidate for the job. The chief of police will be responsible for overseeing the Easthampton Police Department, as well as working alongside other city officials and community members to promote safety and strength.

This collaboration with the Public Safety Consultants follows a request for proposal (RFP) process that has been implemented to best nominate the next police chief. City officials. law enforcement experts and community stakeholders will also take part in the RFP process and the committee.
