Dec 18, 2024
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Square One in Springfield has been awarded a half million dollars, to help fund the construction of a new Early Education and Care center.
The proposed 26-thousand-square-foot building will replace Square One's previous facility, which was destroyed in a 2011 tornado.
The new building will have four preschool classrooms for 80 children. One classroom may be utilized for 24-hour care, including a full bathroom with a shower for families to use during emergency drop-in care after hours.
The building is directly across the street from MGM Springfield, which is open 24 hours a day.
