NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - To accommodate those seeking shelter from the cold temperatures this season, Northampton is opening several warm spaces to the public starting Sunday. The city of Northampton is partnering with the Manna Community Center at St. John's Church on Elm St. to provide a warming space on Sunday from noon to 4:00 p.m. The community center's regular hours are Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and they also provide meals to Edward's Church on Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Easthampton searching for new chief of police The Northampton Police Department is open 24/7, and those who need warmth on the coldest days and nights are encouraged to go to the station's lobby. The Northampton Senior Center will welcome individuals coming in to warm up during regular hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Forbes Library is open Monday through Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Forbes will not be available as a warming center on Sunday.
