Two suspects charged with firstdegree murder after 23yearold found dead in Richmond yard

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Two suspects have been charged with first-degree murder after a 23-year-old man's body was found in the front yard of a building in Richmond's Southside in September.
Fifty-one-year-old Douglas Harris of Richmond has been charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Kellie Johnson, 46, also of Richmond, has been charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
These charges come after a grand jury indicted both suspects on Monday, Dec. 2.
At 7:12 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the 200 block of Richmond Highway for the report of a person down.
When officers arrived, they found 23-year-old Manchee Edwards, Jr. of Richmond down and unresponsive in the front yard of a building. Police said he had a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
