NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) -- The Newport News Police Department is asking for the community's help in identifying a suspect involved in the theft of two local businesses. On Monday morning, police received reports of overnight thefts from Harbor Freight in the 11900 block of Jefferson Avenue and Cell Phone Zone in the 12600 block of Jefferson Avenue. Both businesses reported an individual had broken in and stolen items. Further investigation determined that the same individual was responsible for both incidents. The suspect is a male who was dressed in all black with a ski mask and red gloves.
