LIBERTY, Mo. -- This will be the first Christmas one metro family will celebrate without their son.
Therrell Jackson, 17, died in a drive-by shooting over the summer.
His family wants anyone with answers to come forward.
"It took my whole soul. It took my life too," his mother Amber O'Connell said.

Jackson was shot and killed in Avondale, a town just northeast of North Kansas City, on July 30.
According to investigators with the Clay County Sheriff's Office, the teen was walking around the neighborhood, hanging out with friends, when they say he was targeted in a drive-by shooting.
"I want them to know, that you know the family is struggling this holiday season and that anyone that thinks they have any information on this in this case, however small the detail, we would like them to come forward," said Kristen Rivera with the Clay County Sheriff's Office.
Rivera, the lead detective, says they're looking for multiple suspects. Surveillance video shows the suspected vehicle used during the shooting. It's a dark blue 1996 to 1998 Chevy Silverado Z71 4X4, which appeared to have a faulty driver side head light.
"It's hard, it's really hard. and I want justice and I don't want other kids to lose their lives, cause it's bad out there and I just really want justice and this gun violence to stop. Teenager gun violence is awful," O'Connell said.
She says TJ, as they called him, was smart, loved his family and two older sisters and would do anything for those around him.
"It hurts so bad, but i just want justice. he did not deserve this. no child. he had a full life ahead of him," she added.
