HARTFORD CITY, Ind. -- An investigation is underway after an 83-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Hartford City. According to Blackford County Coroner Zach Crouch, Leonard Scheidt was driving eastbound on Park Avenue in Hartford City when he collided with another vehicle. It remains unclear what circumstances may have led to the fatal crash. Crouch said authorities arrived on the scene and pronounced Scheidt dead on the scene. As of this article's publication, authorities have not confirmed if any other individuals sustained injuries. An autopsy will be performed at a later date at Ball Memorial Hospital. Scheidt was from Grant County.
