A former school-turned-administrative office building in Wooster Square is still empty of people, though it may soon have furniture for future office workers to use.That’s the latest with the former New Light high school building at 21 Wooster Pl.In early November, the Independent reported on how the public school district has spent two years and $1.2 million renovating the vacant building, with plans to make it the new home for 20 employees from the district’s Office of Academics.Asked for an update on Friday, New Haven Public Schools (NHPS) spokesperson Justin Harmon told the Independent that the district’s facilities team is “waiting for the movers to confirm a date to move existing and donated furniture into the space.” The goal, he said, was for furniture to be moved in on Tuesday.Harmon did not respond to a follow-up request for comment by the publication time of this article about whether or not the furniture had actually been moved in.This reporter swung by 21 Wooster on Tuesday. The property was quiet, with no staff or movers visible inside. Some rooms appeared to be furnished, with desks and filing cabinets. Others were empty.
