Small explosion leads to Wisconsin shop fire, outbuilding and contents considered total loss

JACKSON, Wis. (WFRV) - A shop in Wisconsin was rendered a total loss along with its contents after a small explosion reportedly set the owner's clothing on fire on Tuesday afternoon.
According to a release from the Washington County Sheriff's Office, the Communication Center got a 911 call reporting a fire at a shop on a Church Road property in Jackson around 3:37 p.m. The property owner reported that the shop had equipment and multiple small explosions occurred.

The owner called 911 from nearby after he suffered minor burns in the incident. The Jackson Fire Department along with sheriff's office deputies arrived on scene to find the detached shop fully on fire.
The Jackson Fire Department upgraded the response to a Mutual Aid Box Alarm System Working Still alarm. The flames were contained by firefighters before it spread to other structures, including a home on the property.
Emergency personnel responded to the caller's location, who was treated by staff and taken to a nearby hospital to treat his burn injuries.
According to an initial investigation, the property owner was welding inside when a small explosion ignited his clothing. He drove to a neighboring location to call for help as he had no access to a phone.
