EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - Over 600 families and seniors got Christmas gifts this year as part of the Angel Tree program, the Salvation Army said in a news release. Photos by Anthony Pina - KTSM The Salvation Army distributed Christmas gifts to 636 applicants on Wednesday morning, Dec. 18. This year, the Salvation Army distributed over 8,000 toys to families with children and also delivered gifts to assisted-living facilities and nursing homes. Each family received toys, clothes, a food box, and a turkey for a full Christmas experience, the Salvation Army said. Each year, families register in early fall for Christmas assistance. Donors join the program as early as November by providing toys and clothes, the Salvation Army said.
