COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCBD) -- South Carolina fans can get a behind-the-scenes look at the Gamecocks' exciting 2024 football season in a Netflix docuseries premiering next summer.
Netflix announced Wednesday that production of the eight-episode series, which follows multiple teams in the powerhouse Southeastern Conference (SEC), is already underway.
The Gamecocks are one of ten schools that will be featured, according to The Athletic, which first reported the news. The others are Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt.
SEC spokesperson Herb Vincent told the outlet that all 16 SEC schools were invited to participate.

The series -- produced by Box to Box Films -- is expected to follow teams throughout the 2024 season, giving viewers inside access to players, coaches, locker rooms, and more on and off the field.
“This behind-the-scenes docuseries will bring all the drama and pageantry of Southeastern Conference Football to a worldwide Netflix audience,” SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey told Netflix.
South Carolina started the 2024 college football season with wins against Old Dominion and Kentucky. But, a series of close -- and controversial -- losses to LSU, Ole Miss, and Alabama in the first half of the season left many fans disappointed.
The team bounced back, however, winning six straight games to finish the regular season, capped by a 17-14 victory over in-state rival Clemson. The Gamecocks' second-half stretch included wins over four teams ranked in the Top 25.
“Our 2024 season was special in many ways,” said Gamecocks Coach Shane Beamer. “I look forward to seeing our program featured in this new documentary when it comes out in Summer 2025.”
The Gamecocks finished eighth in the SEC and are scheduled to play Illinois in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl on Dec. 31 at 3 p.m. in Orlando.
