Mayor Brandon Scott will lead the countdown to kick off Baltimore’s Inner Harbor fireworks display on New Year’s Eve, capping a five-hour program to help ring in the New Year. The Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts (BOPA) announced on Wednesday that festivities will start at 7 p.m. at the Inner Harbor Amphitheater Stage, between the two Harborplace pavilions at Pratt and Light streets, with music by DJ Oji Morris. Morris, also known as The Original Man, has been spinning records in Baltimore since 1987 and for many years hosted “The Underground Experience,” a radio show on WEAA 88.9 FM.The celebration will also feature live music by The Experience, a powerhouse band that fuses blues, rock, soul, funk, and gospel in a mix that has been described as “a cross between a juke joint and a church.” Its performance will lead up to the midnight fireworks show, which will be visible from all around the Inner Harbor.Updates closer to the event, if any, will be available at promotionandarts.org and @promoandarts on social media.
