BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A beloved member of the Bakersfield education community, who dedicated over 30 years to his craft, passed away on Nov. 29. Dennis Patrick graduated from UC Santa Barbara before beginning a 35-year career with the Bakersfield City School District. He began as a teacher before going on to become a principal at several schools in the district, including Franklin, Hort, Bessie Owens, and Chipman. Patrick eventually took on the role of Associate Superintendent until he retired in 2005. Funeral services for Patrick are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at Greenlawn Mortuary Northeast. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lincoln Kiwanis Club. Dennis Patrick was 78 years old.
