BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- On Monday evening, the Tehachapi City Council celebrated the newest councilmembers who took the oath of office to begin their terms of service. Joan Pogon-Cord was unanimously elected as Mayor, while Jeanette Pauer was unanimously elected as Mayor Pro-Tem. Both of the positions are two-year terms, with nominations and voting conducted by the five elected councilmembers. In addition to the appointments, several councilmembers were sworn in, including Michael Davies, Hannah Chung, Tori Marsh, Marianna Gutierrez, and Phil Smith.
