SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Police in Springfield are investigating after a woman was found with gunshot wounds on Stafford Street Tuesday. Springfield police officers honored by Boston Celtics as “Heroes Among Us” Springfield Police Spokesperson Ryan Walsh stated that at around 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday, officers were sent to the 100 block of Stafford Street for a report of a gunshot victim. Map: Stafford Street When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. She was taken to the hospital for her injuries and is expected to recover. The Springfield Police Department's Detective Bureau is investigating the shooting, no word on any arrests at this time.
