[1] Rio Rancho PD: Suspect in custody after shooting several hundred rounds of ammunition- According to Rio Rancho Police, a suspect is in custody after shooting several hundred rounds of ammunition Wednesday morning. Southbound NM 528 (Pat D'Arco Highway) has been reopened, however, northbound NM 528 will be closed until equipment and evidence can be removed. Right now Sabana Grande is still closed from NM 528 to Rincon de Romos Dr.
[2] Man detained after being accused of a brutal beating in Albuquerque fast food restaurant - A judge has decided the suspect in a seemingly random attack at an Albuquerque restaurant will remain behind bars. Police say surveillance video shows Timothy Roberts getting punched over and over again inside the McDonald's at Central and Yale in June. Investigators say an anonymous tip led detectives to identify Heath Miller as the man behind the assault.
[3] Coolest day of week but still dry across New Mexico - Northeasterly gusty winds are bringing colder air from the Northeast Highlands to the Pecos River Valley this morning with below-freezing temperatures for the northern two-thirds of the region with mostly clear skies and dry air.
[4] APS Board of Education to discuss future of Taft Middle School - The Albuquerque Public School Board of Education is set to note whether or not to close down Taft Middle School. If approved, current Taft students will be enrolled at Taylor Middle School starting next school year.
[5] UNMH offering free flu shots at Lobo Men’s basketball game on Wednesday - The Univesity of New Mexico Hospital is offering free flu shots at Wednesday’s UNM Lobo Men’s basketball game at The Pit. UNMH said the shots will be available starting at 5:30 p.m. when the doors open and will continue until halftime.
