Middletown man indicted on molestation, sexual assault charges

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — A man from Middletown has been indicted by a grand jury with three counts of first-degree child molestation, two counts of first-degree sexual assault, and three counts of second-degree child molestation.
According to the Rhode Island Attorney General, 34-year-old Steven Sousa committed the the alleged acts occurred in Middletown on various days and dates between February 14, 2023 and May 31, 2024.
Back in 2021, Sousa was arrested and charged for possession and delivery of cocaine, along with ecstasy pills.
After further investigation, police were able to discover that Sousa had been selling the drugs in the Portsmouth community.
