'Happiest Affluent Areas': Piedmont, Edmond, Nichols Hills study says

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - A recent study showcasing the happiest residents among America's most expensive locations includes three Oklahoma towns.
CardRates surveyed 3,000 residents living in desirable locations ranking happiness versus cost of living, revealing the benefits residents say outweigh the lofty price.
A list of the top 150 were compiled with Oklahoma showing Piedmont standing out with the happiest residents among the state's most expensive areas, ranking 126th nationally. According to the study, Piedmont residents concur that the quiet rural charm, strong community bonds, and family-friendly vibe make Piedmont a serene spot and inviting place to live.
Residents of two other pricey Oklahoma locations ranked among the happiest in the country with Edmond, Oklahoma landing at the 147th spot, followed by Nichols Hills in 150th.

The top three is a favorite with millionaires, billionaires at first place Palm Beach, Florida, second place is the near-neighbor, Boca Raton and third place Ewa Beach in Hawaii which is considered a laid-back coastal community with scenic views of the Waianee mountains, noted the survey.
"Our study shows that although living in some of the most desirable areas comes with significant financial strain, it is a price worth paying for many residents, who place an enormous value on the unique lifestyle they bring," says Jon McDonald, senior editor at CardRates. "It’s a testament to the aspirational appeal of some of these affluent locations."
CardRates study concluded, residents with the most satisfaction revealed over a third (38%) rated the high quality of schools and the family-friendly environment, highlighting safety and security. 34% loved the access they had to nature and outdoor activities.
