NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) -- Police are responding after a woman was hit by a garbage truck on Wednesday morning in Norfolk.
Officers responded to the 4500 block of Hammock Lane around 10:10 a.m. for the report of a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. When police arrived, they learned that a trash truck had hit a woman. The woman suffered non life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

10 On Your Side's Tom Schaad was near the incident after it happened and said the woman was seen conscious and breathing.
