After publicizing its new brand, “Unleashing Brand Joy” and its new values of “Better Together,” the agency’s new headquarters in the Lower Garden District mirrors the brand image with a workspace that reconnects colleagues, re-focuses on in person teamwork in a post-pandemic era and accommodates remote and New Orleans-based teams.
“We believe joy is a powerful thing in our work and our play,” said Michelle Edelman, CEO/partner of PETERMAYER. “We carefully created a place where our team can bring their best selves to work and put their whole hearts into everything they do.”

Edelman asked New Orleans-based interior designer Studio West to create an office with a hospitality feel featuring the necessary tools for ideal creative collaboration and a place that would excite staff to come together at the office. The new PETERMAYER brand features bold accent colors in a field of more neutral whites and black. Studio West followed these cues and incorporated brand accents as subtle pops in the furniture and accents to bring life to the neutral backdrop without feeling over-branded.

“One of the main goals was to make sure the space captured the essence of PETERMAYER and wasn’t just a billboard with brand logos everywhere. They wanted the space to feel like them, not just say it was them,” said Jennie West, Studio West Principal and Founder.

The approach was to program the new workspace into four zones: focus, collaborate, connect and respite. In the “collaborate” zone, furniture is height adjustable, mobile, and collapsible. Mobile whiteboards and pin-up rails allow creative teams to brainstorm. The boards can also be moved into conference rooms for presentations or near mobile AV carts to “connect” with remote team members. There are dedicated “focus” spaces with acoustic privacy panels and biophilic signage that allow for “respite” and a chance to recharge after a day of collaboration.

The new office only features four private multi-purpose offices, available to staff for small Zoom meetings and other functions. The office also has a colorful bike part wall installation and a custom mural painted by a local all-female New Orleans muralist team of Madison Roy of Indigo Madness, and Bruna Pétalla.

Contractor Edifice Builders LLC led the construction work, with contributions by furniture dealer AOS Interior Environments.
In June, PETERMAYER announced its new brand, new look, redefined its missions statement and core values, and updated its website. Current clients include the likes of Lumen Technologies, Hancock Whitney Bank, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, and Zatarain’s.
