West Lafayette stabbing leads to 2 arrests

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Two people have been arrested after a reported stabbing in West Lafayette on Tuesday evening.
According to a news release from the West Lafayette Police Department, officers responded to an apartment complex at around 8:52 p.m. on Tuesday after a call of a reported unwanted guest.
When officers arrived, they found a "chaotic scene" involving three individuals who were involved in an argument. The release said that the argument eventually escalated into a stabbing.

As officers investigated the incident, officials said in the release that the person who had been stabbed, identified as Scott Nail, a 55-year-old Colfax resident, had an outstanding warrant for his arrest from the Clinton County Sheriff's Department. Nail was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening lacerations.
The release said that Kimberly German, a 54-year-old West Lafayette woman, was arrested for assisting a criminal, a Level 6 felony, after the incident. German reportedly allowed Nail, a person "whom she knew to be a fugitive from justice, to stay at her apartment."
