Employee stabs company president during meeting, police say

FRUITPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The president of a manufacturing company near Muskegon was stabbed by an employee Tuesday morning, police said.
It happened around 9:20 a.m. at a staff meeting with employees of Anderson Express, located on Mill Iron Road south of E Broadway Avenue in Fruitport Township, according to police. During the meeting, a 32-year-old man from Walker who was employed at the company stabbed the president in the side with a knife, the Fruitport Township Police Department said.

Officers said the suspect then left the building, got in his vehicle and drove away. He was stopped by police and arrested 15 minutes later.
“Fellow employees described the suspect as having a quiet demeanor,” police wrote in the release.
The victim of the stabbing was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery. He is in serious but stable condition, police said.
It’s not clear why the suspect stabbed the victim, but police are investigating. Officers are reviewing videos.
