ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) - We are cloudy this morning with temperatures in the 30s. Expect a system to move in that will bring scattered rain and snow showers this afternoon. Those will not accumulate and fade tonight. As the system slides out, there will be a weak northwest flow that could inspire a few scattered lake effect snow showers into early Thursday morning. A few light snow showers will be possible throughout the day, but it shouldn't amount to much. A weakening clipper from the west will move toward New York State as a coastal low slides along the Atlantic coastline Friday. These combine to give area-wide flakes across Western New York mid-day Friday. Winds back to a northeast flow and that should add colder air and moisture, allowing for some minor lake responses. This will help a few tenths of an inch to accumulate into Friday afternoon. As winds sustain and colder air takes over, there will be a better chance for us to get some accumulating snow going into Saturday. It will be very cold behind this system with temperatures falling into the teens through Sunday.
