Their growth is continual and barring injuries, the Silver & Black are turning some heads. With Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich on the mend, the continual progress is underscored even more by having assistant coach Mitch Johnson at the helm. Minnesota traded away Karl-Anthony Towns for Julius Randle, Donte DeVincenzo, Keita Bates-Diop (waived), and a future first-round pick. Meanwhile the Spurs picked up Chris Paul, Harrison Barnes, and Stephon Castle. At this time, the Spurs have trended up while the stock in Minnesota is down from last season. Having Victor Wembanyama and Anthony Edwards as each teams respective superstar creates what could become a great rivalry over the next few seasons.
