Starliner astronauts’ return to Earth delayed until March
Dec 18, 2024
CHARLOTTE, N.C.– Astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore will spend the winter holidays in space. Now, they’re just hoping to get home before Easter. NASA announced Tuesday it’s delaying its crew-ten launch until at least late March. It was previously scheduled for February. Part of the mission’s goal is to transport a Dragon Spacecraft to the International Space Station that will bring the pair home. Williams and Wilmore have been stuck on the I.S.S. since June. It was a stay that was supposed to last a week but a problem with the Boeing Starliner that was supposed to take them home has caused the unplanned, months-long delay. Uncrewed space craft routinely bring supplies to the scientists living on the I.S.S.
