WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- A man was hospitalized after a fire broke out in Northwest D.C. Tuesday night, officials said.
DC Fire and EMS (DCFD) responded to an apartment complex in the 3100 block of 16th Street NW. Sprinklers were activated, containing the fire in the unit.

9 people hurt, 1 dead in shooting at Towson funeral home, police say
Firefighters said they rescued a man from the apartment. He was taken to the hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries.
The fire was extinguished by 10:51 p.m., according to a DCFD post about the incident on X.
Investigators were still at the scene into Tuesday night.
