TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Fresno County Cal Fire stopped to render aid after spotting a car crash on their way to help crews in Southern California. According to Cal Fire, their Fresno-Kings Unit Strike Team 9430C hit the road for Temecula on Monday. They were on their way for a preposition assignment in preparation for this week’s expected wind event in Southern California. En route, Cal Fire says the Strike Team stopped to provide critical care after coming across a major accident on Highway 99 in Tulare County. Photographs from the scene show crew members using the Jaws of Life, a hydraulic rescue tool, to open the passenger door of a Toyota minivan that ran off the road.
