FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - More than 150 citations have been issued following a weekend traffic operation in an area that the Fresno Police Department said has had an increase in crashes in the last six months. On Tuesday, police announced their Traffic Unit conducted a Traffic Safety Operation over the weekend due to an increase in traffic collisions along Herndon Avenue. The police department says the operation resulted in 104 speeding citations, 44 improper turn citations, seven right-of-way citations, and three impounded vehicles.
