Police: 1 shot on Traverse Road in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A man has what police said is life-threatening injuries after being shot on Traverse Road in Newport News Tuesday afternoon.
Newport News Police said officers found a man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound after they responded to the zero block of Traverse Road in reference to a shooting at 3:31 p.m.
The man was taken to a local hospital, police said.
No suspect information has been released, and police said they are continuing to investigate the shooting.
