SCSO arrest 8 men in connection to car theft ring, homicide

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Eight men have been arrested this week after Shelby County Sheriff's Office deputies said they'd committed multiple crimes such as theft of property and homicide.
On December 16, detectives from the Shelby County Sheriff's Office Personal Crimes, BRATs (Burglary, Robbery and Auto Theft), SCSO K-9 Patrol and SWAT executed a search warrant in connection to a homicide that occurred on October 21 in the 7000 block of Cutter Mill Road in southeast Shelby County.
The warrant was served in the 5900 block of Grosvenor Ave in East Memphis.

During the search, deputies recovered:
Four vehicles that were reported stolen out of Memphis: A Maserati SUV, two Nissan Maximas and a Jeep Grand Cherokee
11 firearms: Six Dracos, one AR Pistol, four glock handguns (two had automatic switches)
2.35 pounds of marijuana
Deputies arrested eight suspects: Roderick Danner (19), Desmond Emery (21), Eric McNeal (18), Zavion Owens (20), Gabriel Smith (22), Jonathan Rush (22), Curtiss Johnson (32) and Donte Eddings (19).

Six suspects, Danner, Emery, McNeal, Owens, Smith and Rush are all facing the following charges:
Two counts of Theft of Property $10,000-60,000
Three counts of Prohibited Weapon: Machine Gun
Two counts of Theft of Property to Wit: Firearm Under $2,500
10 counts of Unlwaful Possession of a Firearm
One count of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent: Marijuana
3 detained, 2 hospitalized after a shooting in Southaven
Johnson is facing those same charges as well as 11 counts of convicted felon in possession of a handgun.
Eddings was charged with first degree murde with more charges forthcoming.
SCSO deputies say that these investigations are still ongoing and additional charges and arrests are expected.
